Sid Eudy, widely known to wrestling fans as Sid Vicious and Sycho Sid, has died at the age of 63 after a years-long battle with cancer.
Vicious' son Gunnar Eudy shared the news of his death in a Facebook post.
“It is with great sadness that I announce the passing of my father, Sid Eudy, after battling cancer for several years. He was a man of strength, kindness and love, and his presence will be sorely missed,” she wrote. “We appreciate your thoughts and prayers as we mourn this loss.”
Vicious rose to prominence as a member of the Wrestling World Federation, which became World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) and World Championship Wrestling (WCW). He was a six-time World Champion, holding two WWF Championships, two WCW World Heavyweight Championships, and two USWA Unified World Heavyweight Championships.
During his time in the ring, he became embroiled in bitter rivalries with other wrestling icons such as Ric Flair, Hulk Hogan, The Undertaker and Sting. In August 2017, he appeared in his last match against Paul Rosenberg for Great North Wrestling.
Vicious is survived by his sons, Gunnar and Frank, and his wife, Sabrina Paige.
