Red Dead Redemption comes to PC this month with Undead Nightmare; 4K support and PC configuration revealed

Confirming years of rumors and speculation, Rockstar Games has officially announced that Red Dead Redemption and its Undead Nightmare expansion will soon be available on PC. The game and expansion will arrive on PC on October 29.

Double Eleven is working on Red Dead Redemption for PC in collaboration with Rockstar Games. There will be a number of PC-specific features, including native 4K visuals up to 144Hz, as well as support for ultra-wide and super ultra-wide monitors. The game also includes support for HDR10 upscaling and Nvidia DLSS 3.7 and AMD FSR 3.0. Nvidia DLSS image generation is also supported, while players can adjust drawing distances and shadow quality settings, among other things.

Pre-order information will be available later this week. The game will be available on Steam, the Epic Games Store and the Rockstar PC store.

While 2018's Red Dead Redemption II came to PC a year after the game launched on consoles, the original Red Dead launched on Xbox 360 and PS3 and was never expanded to PC until now. The game came to Nintendo Switch in August 2023.

Double Eleven, an independent game developer, was also the developer of the Switch and PS4 port of Red Dead Redemption. He has worked on ports of Grounded, Fallout 76, Rust, Minecraft Dungeons, and Limbo, among others.

The minimum and recommended system requirements for Red Dead Redemption have been released on Steam. These may be subject to change.

As for Rockstar Games, the studio is currently developing Grand Theft Auto VI, which is scheduled for release in fall 2025.
