Pete Davidson rarely appears in public without a tattoo

Pete Davidson looked healthy and in good spirits alongside longtime friend Machine Gun Kelly at a Los Angeles Clippers game this week. The 30-year-old comedian has been keeping a low profile since canceling several dates on his comedy tour over the summer when he checked into a wellness center to seek treatment for his mental health.

The pair were photographed at the team's home opener at the Intuit Dome in Inglewood, California on Wednesday night. And Davidson has undergone a noticeable change as well, as the abundant tattoos covering his neck and arms have drastically faded or disappeared entirely due to laser tattoo removal. He also wore a red New York Fire Department shirt in tribute to his father, Scott Matthew Davidson, a New York City firefighter who died on 9/11.

Davidson stepped out of the spotlight after performing more than 200 stand-up shows across the country earlier this year. He also planned stops in Kansas, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, New York, Florida and Texas in late summer and fall before winding down his tour. The cancellations were announced just two months after the former Saturday Night Live star reportedly walked off stage at a comedy show in Omaha, NE due to relentless heckling from the audience.

As for his disappearing tattoos, Davidson opened up in May 2021 Late Night with Seth Meyers to have his ink removed for his budding film career.

“It takes about three hours — you have to get there three hours early to cover all the tattoos, because for some reason, people in movies don't have that many,” he told host Seth Meyers at the time. “So I burn them now, but burning them is worse than getting them.”

“Before you laser each tattoo, you hear him announce what the tattoo is to make sure you want to keep it or not,” he continued. “So I'll be sitting up there.” [nitrous oxide] … and then all of a sudden I hear, “Are we keeping Stewie Griffin in blunt smoking?” And I have to sit there and be like, “No, Dr. G.”
