Patrick Mahomes Sr. is celebrating a milestone sobriety after his DWI arrest shortly before the Super Bowl last February.
On Tuesday, the father of Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes posted an update on his personal Instagram informing fans that he has been sober for six months. “I want to thank my God, my wife, my family and my friends for spending six months on the sunny side of the road,” Mahomes Sr. wrote. “I know it was hard to get to know sober Pat, but it's worth it.”
The 53-year-old father of three also honored his wife on the post, expressing his gratitude for the help he provided to get sober. “Trisha Mahomes, thank you for everything you've done,” Mahomes Sr. said.
The post was accompanied by a winking photo of Mahomes standing over current MLB manager and former player Pete Rose. Rose looks up in mock shock at Mahomes Sr., who cut off his own head in the photo.
