An angry traveler was caught on wild video trashing an American Airlines kiosk after he reported confusion over the authenticity of his booking. Cooperative and The New York Post was reported.
The incident happened Monday night at Santiago's Nuevo Pudahuel Airport after the man, who appears to be a construction worker, tried to check-in for his flight to Miami, FL. The recording begins after a conversation in which an airline employee allegedly informed the suspect that his ticket was not valid and he would not be able to board the flight.
The enraged passenger then took a hammer from his work bag and jumped onto the counter, unleashing blows on the televisions mounted on the wall above. After destroying the TVs, the man jumps off the counter and turns his anger on the computer monitors on the counter behind him.

In an interview with the police, the passenger revealed the reason for his angry outburst. He apparently bought a ticket on an unspecified online platform and the reservation didn't make it into his American system. Therefore, the seat was not technically sold to the suspect.
In a statement NYPAmerican Airlines confirmed that Nuevo Pudahuel staff dealt with a “disruptive person” in the check-in area. “We appreciate the professionalism of our team and apologize to our customers for any inconvenience,” the spokesperson said.
All told, the man caused about $20,000 in damage, according to airport officials. The suspect was detained by airport security officers and then handed over to the local police, known as the Carabineros. He was seen by the judge on Wednesday, who forbade the suspect to enter or approach the airport.
