Hello Games announced its new update 5.20 with patch notes, but the highlight is the sixteenth expedition: The Cursed. Like previous Expeditions, The Cursed is only available for a limited time and starts soon, lasting approximately two weeks.
This expedition focuses on players discovering that the lines of reality and other dimensions are blurred. Players will not be able to travel between star systems with their hyperdrive technologies. However, interstellar travel can still be achieved using the ancient portal network.
Players will carry the Anomaly Suppressor, which will anchor them in reality. Ghostly figures called spectral anomalies will appear and are normally harmless. However, as the anomaly suppressor weakens, they may begin to attack or act differently. Players can also drink concoctions to navigate the expedition, such as the Elixir of Quicksilver, which reveals the locations of portals, and the Elixir of Blood, which opens portals.
Those who take part in this expedition can expect rewards such as new posters, a bioluminescent companion, a spectral trail jetpack, and an exclusive Boundary Herald ship. The ship looks like a UFO, and this expedition appears to serve as a special Halloween-style event this year.
The update includes a patch that fixes a few issues, including graphical corruption issues on Xbox and depth-of-field rendering on Switch.
No Man's Sky is available on PC, PlayStation, Switch and Xbox.
