The interactive novel series technically It's already started, as Scholastic released a free e-book called VIP on August 3. VIP is “number 0” in the series, so you can read it before deciding if the new “choose your own adventure” storytelling format is right for you.
Coming September 3rd and priced at $9.74 (was $13), Five Nights at Freddy's: The Previous Week takes place before the events of the very first Five Nights at Freddy's game. As a security guard at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza, you have several nights to survive against Freddy, Chica, Bonnie, and Foxy, and there are over 25 different endings in this book. You can even choose to read on a higher difficulty level, for a unique experience where every turn of the page could be your last.
The next interactive novel, Five Nights at Freddy's: Return to the Pitwill be available starting December 24th and puts you in the shoes of Oswald. After using the ball pit at Jeff's Pizza to travel back in time to 1985, you accidentally bring a sadistic animatronic menace back to the present, and you'll have to find a way to escape his murderous clutches. This book also features 25 different endings and two difficulty levels, if you're up for the challenge.
Return to the Pit is a reinterpretation of the first book in the Fazbear Frights series. It will also be familiar to those who played Five Nights at Freddy's: Into the Pit, the recently released retro adventure game developed by Mega Cat Studios.
