Rob Pitts, known to fans as “The Rabbit” is the star of the Netflix series Tex Mex MotorsHe died at the age of 45.
Pitts himself shared the news of his death in a YouTube video detailing his final months. He said that after attending last fall's SEMA auto show, he started to “break out” and started losing weight. At first he didn't mind the slimmer figure.
“I was preparing to shoot the second season Tex Mex Motors for Netflix, and I wanted to be camera-ready, so I didn't mind that much,” she said. “During the shoot, I started losing my appetite and had more and more acid reflux-like symptoms.”
He initially treated these problems with emergency care, although he was unable to pinpoint the cause. After being admitted to the hospital, he learned that his prognosis was much more serious.
“My cast partner and 'set mom' Jaime ended up taking me to the ER thinking I had a gallbladder problem,” Pitts wrote. “I was diagnosed with stomach cancer at the end of March. Since then I've been receiving treatments at home and it's been rough. I've had more bad days than good, but I'm hanging in there.”
He didn't keep the mood too long, reassuring his fans that he was living his last days happily.
“I have a lot to live up to and life is going my way,” he said. “Don't feel bad for me… I've achieved my dream of buying my own store, finishing season 2 of Netflix, and marrying the love of my life. Luckily, a short… phrase guy doesn't mind doing long-term things.”
Finally, he imparted some wisdom that he has learned along his health journey. “If your body is telling you something is wrong, don't stop until it figures it out,” she urged her fans. “Ask questions and get answers.”
Pitts is survived by his wife, Randi Foraker.
