It turns out that NBA fans will be able to play the game a little earlier than expected if you pre-order a copy for PlayStation, Xbox or PC. 2K Sports has announced that the early kickoff will begin on September 4, two days before the game's official launch on September 6. This pre-order perk applies to both physical and digital versions of the game, and major retailers like Amazon have already adjusted the date to September 4 for physical PlayStation and Xbox copies. This surprise pre-order perk is not available for the Nintendo Switch version of NBA 2K25.
NBA 2K25 is set for a September 6th The game's launch was marked by the launch of the game's cover art, featuring stars from the NBA and WNBA. Jayson Tatum of the Boston Celtics, A'ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces, and Hall of Famer Vince Carter are featured on the cover of four different editions of the game, each featuring more virtual gifts than the last.

The physical editions for PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X, and Xbox One cost $70 and will be released on September 4 if you pre-order them (otherwise, they’ll be released on September 6). The Nintendo Switch version costs $60 and doesn’t have early access, so your copy won’t arrive until September 6.
