The coolest Nintendo Lego set, the Nintendo Entertainment System, wasn't available on Amazon earlier this month (a common occurrence), but it's now back in stock — and with a light discount as well. Normally $270, Amazon's latest restock slashes the price to $262. While an $8 savings isn't huge, it's at least something considering we actually have Never I saw a discount on the Lego NES at Amazon. In case Amazon is out of stock again, you can also find it at Target for the same price.
If you thought at one point that this Lego set could be had for less than $270, you would be right. Released in 2020 with a launch price of $230, the Lego NES was one of several sets that saw substantial price increases in 2022. For the past two years, the Lego NES has remained at its $270 price point, when it is available for purchase. Major retailers — sometimes all of them — are constantly out of stock of the Lego NES.
This isn't the only hard-to-find Nintendo Lego set. The Super Mario 64 Question Block disappeared from most retailers this year, and Lego retired the $200 building kit in July. Amazon also just restocked this set, perhaps for the last time.

The Lego version of Nintendo's iconic console isn't just a buildable version of the machine, it also includes all the pieces you'll need to construct an old-school CRT TV and stand, an NES controller, and a NES Super Mario Bros. cartridge. The end result is a surprisingly intricate display piece, full of interactive elements like a working cartridge slot, rotating dials on the CRT TV, and a crank-up screen that emulates a Super Mario level. It also contains a very charming secret that will delight longtime fans.
This is one of the few Lego Nintendo display pieces on the market – the playsets are very different – and if you're looking to get the full collection or spoil a Lego fan in your life, you can't go wrong with the handful of other kits currently available.

The mighty Bowser is quite expensive ($270), but he's huge once fully built. As an alternative to the Koopa King, we recommend the adorable Lego Bowser Muscle Car for a cute and compact version of the Mario Rival. That'll leave you with enough money to grab one of the new Lego Super Mario starter sets that launched earlier this month.
Fans of Nintendo's Lego offerings have two very exciting sets to build in the coming weeks.
Stay with the plumber, Lego Super Mario World: Mario and Yoshi The 1,215-piece Super Mario World LEGO set captures the magic of one of the best Mario games in all its retro glory. It features pixelated Mario and Yoshi Nintendo figures that not only look great, but are also animated thanks to the crank mechanism. Priced at $130, the 1,215-piece Super Mario World LEGO set is available for preorder at Target ahead of its October 1 release.
There is also The Legend of Zelda: The Great Deku Tree Box Set The game will be released on September 1st. It's the first Lego set based on the Zelda franchise. The 2,500-piece building kit is available for pre-order for $300 exclusively on the Lego Store. It's the most expensive Nintendo Lego set to date, but it's a 2-in-1 build. You can build the Great Deku Tree based on its appearance in Ocarina of Time, then take it apart and build the Breath of the Wild version of the Wise Tree.
