When it comes to the worst ways to propose to your significant other, it's hardly a secret that popping the question on camera in a crowded sports arena is about as bad as it gets. (In fact, any public proposal that affects the masses should probably be avoided at all costs.)
For example, a Los Angeles Chargers fan decided to propose to his girlfriend on kiss cam during Saturday's preseason game against the Rams, and it went about as bad as it could have.
In the short clip, posted to X (previously on Twitter) by another fan who was also at the match, the beau can be seen getting down on one knee in excitement after noticing they were on camera. But judging by her body language, her girlfriend was definitely not up for the gesture, at one point cupping her hand over her mouth and waving her arm at him as if to shut down the proposal.
Then another spectator walks down the stairs with a tray of nachos and a drink and douses the poor guy with orange cheese and soda, insulting the failed proposal.
No way! This can't be real @chargers #kisscam #Chargers pic.twitter.com/Ztn6DJBh8r

The video has been viewed almost 2.5 million times since it was posted on Saturday night, but not everyone was entirely convinced of its authenticity. Many commenters considered that the video was clearly staged. And for what it's worth, it looks like the third fan threw his drink at the guy on purpose.
“Every fake set like this should cost the team a draft pick. It's embarrassing,” one user posted, while another simply added, “The most fake cramp.”
“So dumb,” wrote another fan. “That's so lame [Los Angeles] sports teams that they have to come up with a stupid “viral” kit? Sad.”
It's so stupid. Are Los Angeles sports teams so lame that they have to come up with silly “viral” skits? Sad. https://t.co/L42FxSo8YL

The jury is still out on whether the moment was staged for engagement, not a pun, as another user pointed out. But it's also worth noting that the Chargers didn't release the video. Either way, if the stunt prevents even one person from attempting a kiss cam offer, we can give it to you – real or fake.
