
Acclaimed actor Jeff Goldblum has been in movies for half a century, and for most of that time the Jurassic Park star married without children. Goldblum became a father for the first time in 2015 at the age of 62. Now, nearly a decade into being a late father, Goldblum reflects on his journey as a father.
Goldblum talked about his life as a father in an interview on August 18 The Independent. Married Canadian Olympic gymnast Emilie Livingston in 2014; they welcomed their first child, Charlie, the following year, with their second son, River, arriving in 2017. Now 9 and 7 years old, Charlie and River are the light of their father's life.
“It's amazing,” Goldblum said of fatherhood. “All the emotions come out and you're forced to look at everything you're modeling and what you can do better. It's a great challenge and opportunity.”

Childhood is a special thing for Goldblum, since he knew what he wanted to do from an early age. As a result, he continues to devote himself fully to his work for five decades in his professional career.
“You know, from the age of 10 I wanted to be an actor in the worst way,” he said. “And I still pinch myself and say, 'Wow, this is an amazing opportunity. It would be a shame if you didn't make the most of it.” So I just try to show up to work and be thankful and grateful for it all.”
Still, Charlie and River shouldn't get used to having their famous dad do everything for them, as he revealed back in April that he expects them to 'row' [their] own boat” when they are older.
