There was no shortage of chatter about Hugh Jackman's rock hard body Deadpool and Wolverinewhich was also a recurring meta joke throughout the two hour plus comic blockbuster. But those incredibly defined six-pack abs took a village, so to speak, as Jackman explained this week.
The 55-year-old took to social media on Wednesday to express his gratitude to his team for the hard work they put into getting him into “Wolverine” shape at his age, posting a shirtless selfie as proof of the end result. .
“A lot of people have been talking to me or asking me about not being formal and what I've been doing, what I've been eating, how I've been training, how hard it is at your age and all that stuff.” Jackman began by saying in an audio clip. “And honestly, I just wanted to take a moment to say, yes, I had to come up — yes, I had to do those bodies and eat those, but I had an incredible team to help me.”

“When I say team, I'm going to refer to eight people.” X-Men continued star. “Because there is no hope in hell, I would have gotten there without them.” First, he thanked his trainer of five years, Beth Lewis, who trained him on many projects.
“I'm in better shape — and when I say shape, I mean physical health — my knees, my shoulders, which have been bothering me for years, are gone,” she said. “He helped me get through this and get the results I needed while feeling fantastic. He never overworked me, he realized I overworked myself in the past, he was always present, thoughtful, kind, and then when it was time to push me, he could push.”
Jackman also thanked the team of chefs and nutritionists who were responsible for his meals during the training period. “For about a year, I didn't have to think about what I was cooking, what I was buying,” she explained, noting that it was basically just someone counting the grams of protein and fat. “Someone made me food, which made it a lot easier.”
But it wasn't just diet and exercise that made Jackman so incredible on screen. There was also some Hollywood magic, so to speak. She also thanked Whitney's makeup artist, who was tasked with oiling her body to make her skin glow. “You'd hear it [director] Shawn Levy exclaims, “Fresh lube on Hugh!” and everyone cringed a little bit — they wouldn't cringe, they'd laugh,” he joked.
Jackman also shared that everyone worked on schedule the day they filmed the climactic final action scene, including Levy and his co-star and writer Ryan Reynolds, to look their best.
“That day, because I was in a bad mood, I didn't drink water the night before, I ate tilapia and beans for days, and how to make that day the best for me, everyone on set just made it easy,” she added. .
For now, it looks like Jackman will be taking a hiatus from superhero movies for the foreseeable future, and it's clear that he's earned it.
