What to expect in Call of Duty Next

Call of Duty: Next will offer a deeper look at Black Ops 6's multiplayer, including more information on the new Omnimovement system. The event will also provide more information on Black Ops 6's new maps and modes, as well as general gameplay and systems available to players.

This event is being held in part to build excitement for the Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta, which begins August 30. Call of Duty: Next will feature some of the beta's multiplayer maps.

Beyond multiplayer, Call of Duty: Next will include a deeper look at Liberty Falls, one of two Zombies launch maps. Additionally, the event will provide more information on Area 99, the latest map for the battle royale game Call of Duty: Warzone.

Beyond all that, Call of Duty: Next will offer updates on “Black Ops 6 integrations and other announcements,” whatever that means. Another mysterious element is that Activision’s blog post contains a redacted section regarding “information” about… something. Luckily, it won't be long before we find out what it is.

Some speculate that one of the reveals for Call of Duty: Next will be the announcement of early access to Black Ops 6's campaign, or even its Zombies mode. Previous Call of Duty games have allowed players to jump into the campaign a week early if they pre-ordered the game, but so far, no such promotion has been announced for Black Ops 6.

A recent rumor suggests that Black Ops 6's Zombies mode might be available sooner than expected for those who pre-order the game, but that might not be true. GameSpot will have more information as soon as the game is announced.
