Most of HBO's dark comedy anthology series The white lotus due to spot-on casting. In the first two seasons, Jennifer Coolidge, Steve Zahn, Michael Imperioli and Aubrey Plaza were names who inhabited the apparently deadly location of the fictional resort chain. And apparently, fans were close to seeing Conan O'Brien pop up in season three; if O'Brien had anything to do with it.
While chatting with Season 3 star Walton Goggins about the latest episode of his podcast, Conan O'Brien needs a friendthe late-night presenter recalled The white lotus creator Mike White before production began on the next season and the show was made. But unfortunately, it doesn't sound like White was moved by the effort.
O'Brien said he was in Bangkok filming a travel series for Max. Conan O'Brien has to gowhen he met White.
“Before they started shooting The white lotusI run into none other than Mike White at a restaurant and we start chatting because we've met once or twice, he's a really funny, cool guy,” the 61-year-old recalled. “And I said 'Hey, so the next season The white lotusyou are going to thailand right? And I said: I was there. I felt very good. I made a lot of friends.”
“And then I said, 'If there's a part for me, I'm available.' And he looked at me and said, 'You know, there's a lot of sex work.' And I said, 'I could, I could play a role where I'm not a man— you know, a male gigolo or something.”
At this point in the conversation, both Goggins and O'Brien's co-hosts, Sona Movsesian and Matt Gourley, laughed incoherently. “This is the last podcast you ever do, Conan,” Goggins joked. “Yes, you can. I think you can,” he added.
O'Brien then interjected to clarify whether Goggins thought he could play the part or whether he thought he might actually be a gigolo. “Well I think you could do both. I think you could play that role and be that person in real life” Reasonable – the star reasoned, and O'Brien said: – I appreciate that.
Along with Goggins next season The white lotus Season 1 standout Natasha Rothwell will return along with new faces such as Leslie Bibb, Jason Isaacs, Michelle Monaghan, Parker Posey, Carrie Coon, Walton Goggins, Patrick Schwarzenegger and Aimee Lou Wood.
