Call Of Duty Replacement Becomes Playable Operator In Black Ops 6

The centerpiece of Activision's Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 marketing campaign – Peter Stormare's The Replacer – is coming to the game as a playable character in the upcoming Season 1 update.

The Replacer Tracer Pack Operator Pack comes with two skins for The Replacer, including a standard version and a bonus version for people who own the new Season 1 BlackCell Pack. The package also includes weapon blueprints for the weapons called Quick Wit and Ramifications, as well as the animated calling card “Aura +5000”, the animated emblem “Many Hats”, the finishing move “Replacement Killer”, and a vehicle weapon charm.

For the BlackCell version of The Replacer, Activision has warned that players must first purchase the BlackCell bundle; the skin will not work if you purchase the BlackCell bundle after purchasing the Replacer bundle. Activision has not announced pricing for any of the new Season 01 Store Packs.

Stormare himself voices The Replacer for this operator pack.

Activision created more than two dozen replacement commercials for Black Ops 6, featuring Stormare replacing all sorts of people, including TV hosts, the Pope, NFL's Kyler Murray, boxer Canelo Alvarez, host of podcast Joe Rogan and political analysts. You can see all the spots on the Call of Duty YouTube page.

Stormare's The Replacer debuted in 2013 and has been a mainstay of Activision's Black Ops marketing campaigns over the years. The first in the series of ads for Black Ops 6 featuring The Replacer went live during NFL games in September.

The Replacer even replaced a Call of Duty: Warzone character, Graves, prompting some to theorize that Activision would eventually put him in the game – which is now happening. Activision said the Replacer Pack would be available “shortly” after Season 01 begins on November 14.

In addition to the Replacer Pack, players receive new maps, modes and weapons, as well as a new Warzone map, Area 99. You can read Activision's lengthy blog post to stay up to date on everything coming in the season 01.
