
It was given by Bruce Willis' daughter, Tallulah Willis People an update on her father's battle with Frontotemporal Dementia (FTD).
Willis was diagnosed with FTD in March 2022, but his family waited until 2023 to publicly announce the diagnosis. Tallulah told the publisher that her father is “doing the same thing with the recent updates, which I think is good,” she reported. “But whatever day it is, my family and I will meet him where he is.”
Tallulah added that she “visits my dad and spends some time with him” as often as she can, even though it can be a highly emotional experience. For a while during Bruce's battle with FTD, she realized it was important to “go in” and was open to what the visit was, and knowing that before I enter I am solid. I'm fine,” he explained. “I've done what I need to do to make sure I can just be present.”
Tallulah's comments match those of her mother and Bruce's ex-wife Demi Moore in January. Radio Andy. “I think the most important thing I can share is to meet them where they are,” Moore said. “When you let go of who you were or who you think you are [should be]or for whom even you want them, then you can truly stay in the present and embrace the joy and love that is present and there for all that they are, and not for what they are not.”
In June, Tallulah and Moore shared a joint Instagram post honoring Bruce for Father's Day. “Happy Father's Day to our favorite daughter's father,” the post read. “We love you, BW!”
